So I have been away from GalCiv for quite some time.  Nothing against the game, just life, work, etc.  Anyway, after it updated and such I started a new game and it seems a lot has changed, I mean a lot. Gates, artifacts, other stuff

Not saying anything is bad but I am completely lost.  Any docs, vids or whatever to catch up with?

Manual is upto date as far as Intrigue. Roads and Artifacts come with retribution which is fairly new and lacking docs.

Brad did a series of Dev Journals on Retribution.  You can get the first one here.  There are links to the others in each journal.  Maybe they will answer most of your questions.

Manual?  What manual?  If you can't provide a link it doesn't exist.

The last one I have is 1.03.

How am I to provide a link when it is on your hard drive? Hmmmm? I know.....your computer does not exist. Learn to open your eyes and actually do computer stuff yes? Like um, look. Snoty git.

Is it? I only have Crusade installed, but have been suffering from the same lack of documentation. The manual I can load from the game screen is version 1.03 and utterly useless. If there is an updated manual on the hard drive, why does the game screen button still link to the old version?

Yeah, points finger at Stardock....one of the many many inconsitancies with the game. (Manual is in your main game folder (Galactic Civilizations III) or via a web link on the opening library screen for this game in steam. Its listed on the right.

I tell you, even finding the main directory in a Steam installation is an adventure in its own right.  I currently have three such, plus a few non-Steam GC installs.  And why would I go looking when SD gives NO indication that there is anything to find there (as per Franton above).

Anyway, found 'Manual 2018'.  It has three sections: Intrigue, Crusade, and Base Game 2.33 (which is what I was playing earlier).  I have neither Intrigue nor Crusade installed.  So which section pertains to 3.7?  At least Intrigue has Cities...

For future reference, the likely link is:

Your link doesn't work. Thanks I'm going to reAd the manual. This is overdue. I couldn't find it. Well if I'm reading the table of contents right pages 7-216 are crusade and intrigue.  file:///D:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Galactic%20Civilizations%20III/GalCiv3_Manual2018.pdf

It won't without modification.  You have to edit it to point to where the game is installed, e.g. where Steam is installed.

From the launcher screen, you can use the menu in the top right to find your game installation folder. The manual is in the top folder. This should always work.

This path normally ends with  "\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\" and starts with wherever you install your programs: for me it's "D:\programs" , but it could also be "C:\Program Files (x86)" or "C:\Program Files" for you.

AHA!  Nice trick.  I notice that the Game Guide link is broken, though.  It looks like it's supposed to invoke the wiki.

The wiki is currently down.  We're taking a look at it now.
